Summary

This public panel event aims to expand interactive opportunities between Indigenous artists and the community, and raise public awareness and appreciation for the cultural traditions and wealth of artistic expression within Indigenous communities.

Featuring: Tiffany Adams (Chemehuevi/Koyoomk’awi/Nisenan, multidisciplinary artist), Professor Melissa Leal, Ph.D, and Professor Brenna Chapman in conversation around place-based arts and visual representation solutions for community health and Native identity reclamation.

This Panel Discussion will be moderated by a Native Americans of Sierra College Club Member. This program is made possible thanks to support from Upstate Creative Corps and Sierra College. “Material as Kin” will be on display at Blue Line Arts: April 6th - May 18th, 2024.
