Summary

"At a time when I was experiencing painter’s block, I kept myself going by painting 20 minutes at a time. Every day. Timed. Then twice a day. After 50 of these small paintings, I went on to do hundreds. I’ve convinced my students, and even two professional groups, the value in this liberating method. " ~Ruth Ellen Hoag

In this workshop we’ll work with the 20-minute format. We’ll dive into developing ways to boost skills; learn how to see and find the essence of a painting; create self-assignments as a way to teach oneself techniques; use 20-minute paintings as a springboard for larger work.

A two-day acrylic painting workshop building skills in composition, simplification, problem solving, painting techniques, confidence, tenacity, patience, idea generating, and seeing - All at once!

Participants will leave with a library of work for reference in their own studio practice.

Workshop is open to acrylic (and watercolor) painters with some proficiency and understanding of the medium, and to intermediate and advanced artists. Demonstrations will be in acrylic, but can demo in watercolor as well.

All materials included.
